Description

Just when the list seems almost complete, they pull me back in....

Ahi-Cosmic serpent of Indian mythology, the creature was so vast that it was able to drink the water of the entire planet and would often coil itself in mountains, it was often viewed as a representation of drought and winter, the creature was eventually slain by the god Indra. The creature is also sometimes represented as a spider-like beast.
Aitvaras-A dragon from Lithuanian folklore that would change it's appearance depending on it's surroundings, while indoors the creature would often appear as a cat or a rooster, it's true form was said to be that of a dragon or serpent-like creature with a fiery tail. The creature was considered a type of supernatural "luck bringer" and would often attach itself to a particular household, the Aitvaras would often make it's "owners" rich by providing grain or gold (wich where in fact stolen). The creature could also be purchased by the devil himself at the cost of one's soul....
Alklha-Gigantic dragon-like beast from Sumerian mythology, a beast of such a vast size that it's black wings covered the entire sky and prevented any light from reaching the earth, it was apparently big enough to even swallow the moon and the sun, however it would often regurgitate them back out due to it being unable to withstand the heat produced by sun and moon. The craters on the moon where often said to be the result of this beast's fangs....
None mythical
The Crawfordsville monster-A creature sighted in 1981 in the small town of Crawfordsville Indiana, this unusual flying beast was described as a somewhat rectangular, eel-like creature with several undulating fins on the sides of it's body, and apparently no head, it was also described as producing some sort of wheezing noise, almost as if it where in pain.... some classify this creature as an atmospheric beast (giant creatures that make their home in the planet's sky's and often described as jellyfish-like or amoeba-like)
The Enfield horror-A creature sighted in April 1973 the temporarily terrorized the community of the small town of Enfield Illinois, a rather strange looking creature, the being was described as having three legs, a short body, small arms coming out of it's breast/chest area, and large pink eyes, the creature was also described as having a grayish color and screaming like some sort of wildcat.....

Neat interpretations! I especially like the Aitvaras.

I always thought the Crawfordsville Monster was amazing, and I was truly shocked when I learned that it probably wasn't real. A recent investigation that went back to the original sources (which, amazingly, no researchers had done before) showed that the newspaper exaggerated the sighting, and that the mysterious white floating mass was likely a flock of confused killdeer.
